A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to hear Sophie Abbott speak about her time at the University of Huddersfield, including her placement year in London, and also what she has been doing since graduating.
It was particularly interesting to hear Sophie's experiences with final year, including tackling dissertations, the progression of her project and how important it is to stick with a project idea, no matter how much you want to quit.
She also spoke a lot about her placement year in London where she worked for Brix Smith, and she mentioned how the job came with a lot of pressure but also how she gained a lot of transferable skills working in that industry.
She also pointed out the importance of having two websites if you are a photographer that has projects within different photography genre's. She has a website for her project 'Do You Still Love Me Darling?' which was her FMP, and she also has a website for her fashion photography, which is something I am looking to set up for myself.
Overall, it was great to hear Sophie speak about her experiences of university as a graduate.
