Guest Lecture - Seba Kurtis

During professional week we also had a visit from Seba Kurtis who spoke about his various personal projects, including his main project; The Immigration Files.
The talk was very inspiring and interesting to hear about from the photographer himself.
The Immigration Files reflect themes such as, identity, or loss of identity, religion and nationality.  He first used archived family photos to create collages, however these images were eventually partly ruined by floods.  The most inspiring part of the talk was when Seba revealed that he actually drowned his own film to create this same effect of partly damaged photographs.

Then we were lucky enough to have Seba look at our work and give us feedback which was very helpful for our projects.

Here is a link to Seba's website and other works;
